I was commissioned in the summer of 2017 by singer songwriter Alex Franc to design the artwork for his
latest EP titled “Sleepwalker”.
The theme behind his writing in this EP was very personal, discussing topics of his restlessness during his career and perfectionism, feeling lost and lonely as he worked long hours creating this work. But as his journey continued, he found a sort of light at the end of the tunnel; one of relief and understanding.
For the design, I went to my fine art roots and created a very expressive and colorful oil painting. The work is an abstraction of Alex’s face, using melancholy colors on one side, transitioning to brighter yellows and oranges to symbolize his journey. The typography was left minimal to keep the image at the forefront.
