Ball State's all male a cappella group Note to Self held their first outdoor concert in the Spring of 2017. As their designer, I was put in charge of creating graphics and advertising for the event.
The outdoor concert was meant to mimic the feel of a popular music festival. I took inspiration from multiple music festival and concert posters and advertisements, noting the complex and creative typographic solutions and color combinations to attract attention from their audiences.
For my this design, I used a combination of sans serif typefaces and scripted typography to create an energetic design, as well as combining it with a saturated color palette. I created two different versions of the identity, which involved reversed color palettes. The first has a dominant magenta color while the other is cyan.
As Note to Self's public relations director, I was in charge of promoting the show through social media. To acheive this, I created a countdown each day during the week of the event, and I also designed a snapchat filter for the audience to use while documenting their experience at the show.
