For this packaging project, the challenge was to take an existing typeface and create a promotional CD design for it, similar to software design. I decided to challenge myself by choosing a typeface that has become infamous and has been criticized for a long time, “Impact”.
The typeface is very heavy and loud, so I wanted to emulate that in the design. With a pop-up style folding package and bright vibrating designs and colors, Impact’s packaging sports a powerful and attention-grabbing look that emulates the feel of the typeface.
The design consists of a case, CD label, and a promotional booklet that explains more about the typeface inside, as well as an outer shell that emphasizes the vibrating design.
